At the time of launch it was a ground breaking group, yahoo groups was still in its infancy, social networking???? What was that???? Most people had only just learn't to use email, and most of us were still on a dial up telephone connection. Broadband? What was that????? Never heard of it!

We knew nothing of Spacebook, Myface, or twizzle, or any of those other places which are still strange to me, I get too many emails now to even contemplate talking to others online!

Free telephone calls through the internet? Can you imagine what this group would be like on those? And being able to share those video/ phone calls with anyone who drops by or dozes off, this group could have a permanent line open 24/7!!!!
It was people around the World, longing for news from home, and hoping to chat about people and places they knew, loved and remembered. For us at home, it was a willingness to share, and remember with you all. As we got going, it was sharing an old picture, an old quote, or an old document, now it seems it could be anything. For me, it was just being noisy!!!!!!
