GREAT HARWOODSurroundings / Dean Reservoir / Dean Clough / Dean Lane / Great Harwood Moor / From the Moor Dean Clough ReservoirLess than 30 minutes walk from the town centre, and with car parking even closer, is Dean Clough a small valley occupied by a small brook, one of my favourite spots in the area. In 1762 the Lords of the Manor were allowed to enclose Harwood Moor From the southeastern watershed looking across to Pendle.
As it was in February 1996 after the drought of 1995. Looking north across Dean Clough and the Ribble Valley to Longridge Fell and the Trough of Bowland. Sometimes the clouds are lower.
Sometimes very low but when the mist condenses you get sheep and a view. The south eastern outflow which isn't always needed
but when it is the water flows back to the stream in the line of trees.
